Having settled into a new location in 2021, Kuala Lumpur’s revered rum bar remains a roaring success. The new space retains the bamboo-led styling of the original, but see the addition of natural light, a large lounge space and an all-day dining menu of Caribbean-inflected dishes. Junglebird’s list of libations includes a wide selection of rums: there are over 240, from all over the world, which feature in sleek, modern cocktails that offer a refreshing respite from the city’s heat. Co-founder and bar director Joshua Ivanovic’s signatures including the Brazilian Quentao – cachaça, cider reduction, ginger and citrus – and the more local Cendol Colada, featuring rum, pandan, homemade coconut cream and pineapple.
