A restaurant centred around a wood-fired oven in the heart of the Costa Rican capital, Botaniko comes from well-known Argentine chef Sebastián La Rocca. Using local ingredients and some Argentine cooking techniques, the restaurant serves meaty dishes such as skirt steak and chicken alongside smoked aubergine and roasted pineapple. All fish is sustainably sourced, the menu is almost entirely gluten-free and there’s virtually no dairy or saturated fat, making it a natural and planet-friendly place to dine. With a covered outdoor dining space surrounded by tall trees, it’s easy to kick back and forget you’re in the middle of the city.
