With 2,632 expert-selected restaurants and bars to choose from on 50 Best Discovery, now is the time to take a dip into the refreshed website and start planning your next gastronomic adventure
Since its 2019 launch, 50 Best Discovery has become the essential resource for dining and drinking all over the planet, whether you’re visiting major cities or seeking out off-the-beaten track destinations. Each year, the 50 Best team takes a deep dive into the tens of thousands of votes cast in each of its seven different restaurant and bar rankings to find the essential venues to add to the database. Every venue that has received multiple votes in the most recent rounds of polling is then contacted and reviewed, and its details uploaded to the website.
It means that every 12 months, a new cohort of outstanding, expert-approved hospitality venues are at your fingertips to explore and help you to determine travel plans. After all, who doesn’t base their vacation around where they will be eating and drinking?
This term, a grand total of 601 more restaurants and bars have qualified for a listing on the website. Broken down, that’s 367 new restaurants and 234 extra bars for you to choose from. For restaurants there are a mammoth 65 new cities that have never before seen 50 Best Discovery representation and 27 new cities for bars. For the first time, venues from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia appear on 50 Best Discovery. Each year, the site becomes ever more diverse and shines a spotlight on a greater number of awesome food scenes and cuisines that might not have received quite enough votes to make it onto the main 50 Best lists, but are still well worth checking out.
The US continues with its position as a world-leader for cocktails with an extra 42 bars spread across the county, more than any other location. In the Middle East, the UAE is home to more new restaurant listings than anywhere else, with 33 fresh additions. Collectively, 50 Best Discovery now boasts 2,632 venues, including 1,679 restaurants and 953 bars. That’s a lot of food for thought.
